Garlic is one of those platformers are stand out in a crowd of already available skill based jump titles. Its visuals is one thing to note. It offers a good positive challenge. IF you were expecting to rush through it, you will not if you are a average player. Which I guess adds that charm. However I am getting ahead of myself, let us introduce the story first.
“You are Garlic, an onion-headed boy, and you want to climb the Sacred Tower to meet the Cyber Goddess who will grant your wish. But then something doesnβt go as plannedβ¦
Walk, jump, and dash your way through levels full of enemies, traps, and innovative platforming mechanics. The game includes many checkpoints to not get frustrated in a simple and fun mechanics, with the option of performing amazing combo dashes.
Inspired by classics of the genre, Garlic is a tough but fun platfromer outing perfect for both new and experienced players alike.” – Nintendo Store, Developer flavor text.

IT borrows its pallet from the Nintendo realm of 8bit classics. In a very charming well. Gameplay feels tight, controls are on perfection-vile. Unless someone’s controller sucks, of course! Teasing aside, your clove butt jumps and hops through a dozen scenes. With pain across Garlic’s face reminding me of Bonk on the Turbo Grafx 16.

Minus the three hearts and several power-ups. The Sacred Tower will be split into 12 zones, with each zone including 10-15 levels. With plenty of forgiving checkpoints across your way luckily. So you will not stress out as hard. Unlike Boshy’s evil little arse. Balance played a good role in the game, you were tested, but not where you are screaming. Unless you are not so good at platformers, then prepare for the pain. I guess!

In Closing:
Our expectations were met with Garlic. It is a enjoyable platformer for those classic hardcore gamers to enjoy! Absolutely grab it on Nintendo Switch, or where ever it is available today!
