Today at Disney’s D23 event in California, Disney made several announcements about its toys-to-life game Disney Infinity, including the reveal of a new play set based on Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
Two of the characters included with the set are Finn and Rey, who are featured prominently in the new Force Awakens poster released yesterday. Disney didn’t say when the Finn and Rey toys will be released or provide any images of what they’ll look like in the game.
Actors John Boyega (Finn) and Daisy Ridley (Rey) appeared on stage during the event.
“I’m a big gamer, so it’s an honor to be part of this game,” Boyega said.
Here’s a quick rundown of the other Disney Infinity-related announcements from D23 today.
- Marvel Battlegrounds play set coming in March 2016
- Hulkbuster and Ultron Disney Infinity figures will be released before then
- A Disney Infinity area is coming to Disney Cruise ships
- Newly confirmed Disney Infinity characters: Spot from The Good Dinosaur, Judy and Nick from Zootopia, and Peter Pan.
- This year’s Ultimate Unlock will be Sora’s Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts III
Disney Infinity 3.0 launches on August 30. It comes at an important time for the brand, as overall Disney Infinity sales are hurting.
