Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane was supposed to be featured on the cover of NHL 16 alongside his teammate Jonathan Toews, but that’s no longer going to happen. EA Sports on Wednesday announced that it’s removing Kane from the cover amid the ongoing police investigation against him.

In addition, Kane will no longer be a spokesperson for the launch of the professional hockey game in September, nor will he participate in marketing events.

Authorities from Hamburg, NY, on Friday announced the launch of an investigation into an incident that reportedly took place at Kane’s off-season home.

The Buffalo News reports that Kane is being investigated for sexual assault, though police officials have yet to come out with a formal statement. Kane has not been charged with a crime.

Just this week, Kane hired lawyer Paul Cambria, who represented Kane in 2009 after he was accused of assaulting a cab driver. Cambria has also represented other high-profile clients including Larry Flynt, Marilyn Mason, and DMX.
