This week at Aussie retailers, a starter pack for Blizzard’s MOBA Heroes of the Storm will be released for PC on June 3. The pack has a recommended retail price of $29.95 and includes an exclusive golden tiger mount, a Ronin skin for the hero Zeratul, and five heroes unlocked in-game: Sonya, Zeratul, Zagara, Li Li, and Jaina.

Heroes of the Storm is otherwise a free-to-play game, with players able to access up to seven heroes each week for free. Access to additional heroes can be purchased using real-world money or in-game gold. Players can earn in-game gold by leveling up their accounts, completing quests, or simply participating in matches.

Blizzard described Heroes of the Storm as a “fresh take” on the MOBA genre. Although its core is similar to that of games like League of Legends and Dota 2, the developer alleges it’s a more welcoming experience for newcomers, dropping item management and offering shared experience across teams. Matches typically take no more than 15-20 minutes. Heroes of the Storm went into open beta two weeks ago, following a lengthy closed alpha testing process.
