Sony is getting in the habit of releasing PS2 classics on the PlayStation 3, and now it looks like third parties may be cashing in on the idea as well. Kotaku reports that listings have popped up on Amazon France for two Ubisoft collections: Splinter Cell Trilogy and Prince of Persia Trilogy. The Splinter Cell entry has been pulled, but the Prince of Persia Trilogy is still up for 39,95 euros.
Neither trilogy has been confirmed by Ubisoft, so this is strictly within the rumor category for now. Interestingly, both sets are only listed as PlayStation 3 games, which suggests that companies are taking advantage of Blu-ray storage capacity and neglecting the Xbox 360 altogether when space isn’t feasible. As Gamescom 2010 approaches, we may see an official confirmation soon.
