Samsung recently announced via Twitter that they’re set to announce their new Exynos processor on January 7 at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The cutting edge processor will feature 64-bit architecture and will compete with Apple’s A7 chip. It is expected to make its debut in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5, though nothing is certain about which devices will feature the processor.
Despite hopes that the chip will make it to the US, simply unveiling it does not guarantee it a spot in the American models of Samsung’s next flagship handset. Both the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 feature an Exynos chip in Korea and a Qualcomm processor in the US.
