New online destination for studio founded by Jason West and Vince Zampella goes live with blurry game shot; Harry Potter, Star Wars concept artist on-board.

When Jason West and Vince Zampella–the embattled Infinity Ward cofounders–opened Respawn Entertainment last year, they did so without uttering a word about their new project. Now, the studio’s website has launched in full, teasing what the shop is currently creating and who will be creating it.

One of the most intriguing bits of the just-launched www.Respawn.com is a blurry image of what appears to be a first look at the studio’s development debut. The image shows what appears to be a landscape, with what looks like a building in the foreground. Earlier this month, EA Games boss Frank Gibeau hinted that Respawn’s game might be a sci-fi shooter.

Also on the website is a detailed directory of Respawn employees. One of the biggest names attached to project is Iain McCaig, who will be working as a concept artist on the studio’s first game. McCaig’s credits include Hollywood blockbusters Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the Star Wars prequels.

Most Respawn staffers have previous experience on Call of Duty games, and six have contributed to Sony’s God of War series, specifically God of War 2 and God of War 3.

The Respawn Entertainment logo visible on its website is just a placeholder image, according to the studio’s community manager. “We’re still working on creating something that represents the studio and our game,” the staffer wrote.

As for the ongoing litigation between West and Zampella, Activision, and Electronic Arts, that case is headed to court, where up to $400 million is at stake for the involved parties.
