Nintendo’s DS has been a stalwart little system these past six-plus years, surprising just about everyone with its tremendous success. The DS’s life is at its end, though, as its successor — the 3D-capable 3DS — completes its global launch at the end of this month. Publishers will still be producing DS games for the foreseeable future, of course, but by and large the games that you, the readers of 1UP, care about… well, they’re over and done with.
That makes now the perfect time to revisit the DS library. Before all the best games evaporate into the marketplace, before the bootleggers completely destroy the secondary market with inferior knock-off products, before you the game-loving DS owner are filled with regret over the cult favorites you overlooked. All the above happened with Game Boy Advance, and they’re going to happen again to the DS. This selection of articles is your wake-up call, your last chance to catch up to the DS before everything except the awful shovelware is pushed off the shelves by 3DS.
