Since issuing a teaser image for a game announcement coming during the Spike TV VGAs in December, we’ve gotten some additional clues and theories as to what BioWare has up its sleeve. An anonymous source has suggested that what is to be announced is a multiplayer-focused Mass Effect game, which certainly sounds possible.
Besides a very short teaser video (which is where the teaser image came from), BioWare has now released several binary codes which have been deciphered (via Eurogamer). The first turned out to be the number 55.845, which translates to the atomic weight of iron. The second could be read as -128.5 degrees Fahrenheit, the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth. The temperature was measured in Vostok, Antartica. Vostok, as noted by Eurogamer, is also the name of a system in the Mass Effect series.
A third image has been posted on BioWare’s Facebook today, with that one pointing to the homepage of MI6 (via G4tv), which any James Bond fan will know is the British Secret Intelligence Service. The previous two clues seemed to possibly (although not definitely) point towards a new Mass Effect game, but this latest one seems to suggest otherwise.
