Halloween may be over and done with, but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Costume Quest. The developers at Double Fine Productions hope to give everyone a reason to revisit the quirky RPG with Grubbins on Ice, the game’s first downloadable add-on.
Gamespot scored the first look at Costume Quest’s upcoming DLC, which swaps the Halloween theme for a far more frosty setting — appropriate, considering the planned December release date. Winter doesn’t seem to have mucked with the formula too much, however: The original cast of characters and, almost inexplicably, the trick-or-treat mechanics from the first game are all back for round two.
In addition to an expected five hours’ worth of new content, Grubbins on Ice also addresses some lingering issues with the main game. A patch that’s releasing alongside the Costume Quest DLC adds a more flexible save system and the ability to pause during cutscenes, as well as fixing some of the performance problems from the original.
