Fable 3

Free goodies with new copies of games have become an increasingly popular way to discourage players from shopping in the used bin, so it’s no surprise the Microsoft and Lionhead have opted to use the idea in Fable 3. The company announced today that new copies of the game will come with a one-time use card, granting them a few special items. Those include a Raise Dead potion, Slow Time potion, the Scot outfit for males or females, a Highlander Tattoo set, and the Red Setter dog skin to change the appearance of your pooch.

The set is called “exclusive,” though it seems like at least some of those items would be available in the game itself. All the same, it’s a nice bonus for those who want the items early and with minimal effort. Lionhead has actually been making several DLC incentives as part of the Fable 3 launch, including a weapon if you buy the novel, and an extra quest paired with the ability to create a villager for pre-orderers. Plus, of course, Lionhead has packed extra content into the limited edition, which surely includes the code from new copies as well.
