Microsoft has unveiled a new TV spot for the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians on its YouTube channel. The trailer is titled “A Hero Falls” and centres on a speech announcing the death of Halo series protagonist, Master Chief. You can watch the full video above.

Master Chief’s death has been alluded to several times in the lead up to the launch of Halo 5: Guardians–trailers released earlier this year pointed at the convoluted ties between Master Chief and newcomer Spartan Locke. Microsoft also launched a mysterious “Hunt the Truth” campaign that parodies the popular Serial podcast.

Halo 5 launches on October 27 exclusively for Xbox One. The game’s multiplayer mode will feature a REQ system, which Microsoft recently explained in a video.

The publisher has confirmed that the game will not have a Big Team Battle multiplayer mode at launch. The company has also partnered with video game clothing company Musterbrand for a new “Halo Collection” line dedicated to the shooter series.
