There are plenty of hidden object games out there, but every once in a while one comes along that reminds you why the genre is still so enjoyable. Nippets takes a familiar formula and adds enough personality and creativity to make exploring its colorful world genuinely rewarding.

Before diving in, I’d like to thank the developers and publisher of Nippets for providing TheDailyGamePad.net with a free copy of the game to play on stream and write this impression. While the copy was provided for coverage, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I also streamed my time with Nippets, so if you’d rather watch the gameplay than read about it, be sure to check out the gameplay video alongside this article.

The very first thing that came to mind while playing Nippets was something I hadn’t thought about in years: Highlights magazines.

Growing up, one of my favorite ways to pass the time at doctor’s offices was flipping through those magazines and tackling the “Hidden Pictures” puzzles. There was something incredibly satisfying about slowly finding every tiny object hidden throughout each illustration.

Nippets instantly brought that feeling back.

It captures that same sense of discovery while modernizing the formula with beautifully illustrated environments and clever interactive elements that make every scene feel alive.

Rather than simply handing you a list of random objects to locate, Nippets presents each objective with a small story or humorous clue.

For example, instead of saying “Find the Letter N,” the game might describe someone dragging an enormous letter back to their apartment or mention a character losing their favorite baseball cap after a trip to the movies.

These little narrative snippets give context to every item you’re searching for and make each puzzle feel more engaging than a traditional hidden object game.

I found myself paying attention to the dialogue because the clues often helped narrow down where an object might logically be hiding.

It’s a small design decision, but it makes a surprisingly big difference.

One of my favorite parts of Nippets is simply looking around.

The art style is absolutely gorgeous.

Every screen is packed with personality, colorful details, funny little interactions, and environmental storytelling. Even when I wasn’t actively searching for an object, I found myself clicking around just to see what I might discover.

As I played, I kept uncovering mechanics I didn’t even realize existed.

At one point, I discovered you could lift windows to reveal additional hidden areas, something I had completely overlooked earlier. Those little surprises made exploring each location even more satisfying and encouraged me to experiment instead of simply scanning the screen.

The world feels thoughtfully designed, rewarding players who are willing to slow down and observe.

Despite its calming presentation, Nippets doesn’t simply hand you every solution.

In fact, one of the biggest surprises was the lack of a traditional hint button.

Initially, I found that a little surprising since many hidden object games eventually allow players to reveal an item’s location if they’re stuck.

However, the more I played, the more I realized why.

The game’s written clues almost function as its hint system.

Instead of pointing directly to an object, they gently guide your thinking toward where something might logically be found.

That approach feels much more rewarding because discovering an item comes from understanding the clue rather than simply waiting for the game to reveal the answer.

There were definitely moments where I found myself scratching my head trying to locate a missing pigeon or figure out exactly how to complete an objective, but solving those puzzles felt genuinely satisfying once everything clicked.

One thing that stood out throughout my play session was just how relaxing Nippets feels.

The music is calm.

The visuals are inviting.

The pacing encourages you to slow down instead of rushing.

It’s the kind of game you can load up after a long day, put on some headphones, and simply enjoy exploring at your own pace.

While I don’t usually spend a lot of time with cozy games throughout the year, I could absolutely see myself coming back to Nippets during the fall months when I’m looking for something more laid-back to play between larger releases.

It’s a perfect “grab a drink, relax, and unwind” kind of game.

Nippets succeeds because it understands exactly what it wants to be.

It captures the nostalgic joy of classic hidden object puzzles while adding beautiful artwork, charming storytelling, and clever environmental interactions that keep exploration fresh. The clue-based design creates satisfying “aha!” moments without relying on traditional hint systems, making every discovery feel earned.

If you’re someone who enjoys hidden object games, puzzle adventures, or simply wants a relaxing experience that encourages you to slow down and take in every detail, Nippets is well worth checking out.

Once again, I’d like to thank the developers and publisher for providing TheDailyGamePad.net with a review copy of Nippets. I had a great time exploring its charming world both on stream and while putting together this impression, and it’s a game I’d happily recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing yet rewarding hidden object experience.
