Ever want to play a game where a group of people have bombs inside their bodies that will explode if they don’t properly make their way through a series of doors on a luxurious cruise ship? Of course you have. After being leaked by GameFly, Siliconera now reports that 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors is coming to North America.
999 is a suspense/adventure game that was first announced last year and is developed by Chunsoft, developers of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games and Shiren the Wanderer. The idea is that nine people aboard a cruise liner have been given bangles, each with a different number, and each can only open a corresponding door. To make things trickier, you can only be partnered with 3-5 people at a time, and violating the rules will cause the bombs inside the characters’ bodies to explode.
As described by Siliconera earlier this year for Japan, the game is split into two parts: the Novel part where you talk with other characters, and then the Escape part where you examine rooms and look for items and hints to help you escape from the room you’re in.
