First episode in series dubbed “It’s About Time” hitting December 22 on PC, Mac; free copy of Puzzle Agent bundled with prepurchase.

In early June Telltale Games announced a partnership with NBC Universal for two new episodic adventure series based on the Jurassic Park and Back to the Future franchises. In late October the studio announced that Back to the Future’s first installment would be released sometime in December. Now, excited gamers have a definitive date to circle on their calendars for Marty McFly’s latest adventure.

Back to the Future’s first episode, dubbed It’s About Time, will arrive on the PC and Mac on December 22. The five-part series is available for prepurchase right now via the Telltale Web store for $24.95. Doing so will grant users a free copy of Telltale’s Puzzle Agent.

Additionally, those who purchase the title from Telltale will score a free Collector’s DVD, which will be published after the series comes to a conclusion. Further, Telltale will donate $1 of every prepurchase to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.

The additional four episodes are expected to arrive on a monthly basis from February through May. For more on the Back to the Future franchise, check out GameSpot’s first look at It’s About Time.
