In this stream, I took my first dive into Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi. Big thanks to the devs for providing access—I always appreciate it when indie teams let us peek behind the curtain while they’re still building the magic. The game’s currently in development, and you can jump into the playtest yourself with just a click—but fair warning, there will be bugs. And yes, I found a few.

Right out the gate, Altheia gives off some serious Zelda vibes, but with its own dark, dreamy twist. The world is moody and atmospheric, the kind of place that makes you want to wander just to see what’s around the next corner. Combat-wise, it brings in bows, special attacks, and a lock-on system that adds a nice bit of strategy to your fights. It’s got a lot going for it—but it’s definitely still baking in the oven.

During my stream, I explored some early trial zones, and while I enjoyed the aesthetics and the feel of the world, I ran into some hiccups that made progression unclear. A few of the mechanics weren’t well-explained, and unfortunately, the game ended up breaking partway through. I’ve got patience for stuff like that, though—it’s early access, and part of the charm is seeing how the game grows over time.

Despite the bugs, I really liked what I saw. There’s something promising here—between the vibe, the combat system, and the potential for deep lore, I think Altheia could really shine once it’s polished up. If you’re into dark fantasy, atmospheric exploration, and experimental indies, I’d say give it a wishlist, hop into the playtest, and keep an eye out for future updates.
