Simplicity usually is the key to fun gameplay. Where you do not need excessive elements to keep your fingers busy. This works out for the long run. Specially when you deliver a arcade style game such as Steel Defier. Developed by Viridino Studios. A humble thank you to them and their publisher Ratalaika Games S.L. The game eases into challenge, with a quick to understand style to simply hopping around to collect key cards, and progress to each section of the map. That is it. As you progress the traps add up. More on the screen at the same time. This paces out nicely, with no means to cause the gamer or player to feel overwhelmed to fast. I have got quite far after the recording below. Feeling like the game had a nice build up!
The visual style combines 2D, and a pixel 3D like look, which is overall pretty charming. The music in the background was pretty decent. Offering a light synth-wave to the games presentation. Nothing to amazing, but just works in its place. The story attached to the game also works fine, giving you a little bit of a fine purpose of why you are just running around in several jumping puzzles. Which sometimes is not needed, but a nice addition.
In the big scheme of it all the game is pretty solid. The controls work well, the visuals are pleasing, the price tag is more then fair for the content. So, grab it today!
