Monstrum as the namesake stands up as a really cool concept, or heightened by Its charm, quality, and really cool as hell looking monsters (specially The Brute). The second game originally when I was given access for a short while(the devs then retracted it to assuming to allow themselves to work deeper on quality of life improvements). I was left hungry for more the time spent with the early build. With plenty of players to run around the map with. Now in its released state, not a soul on the servers, unless you count a Twitch streamer and their friends goofing around in it on private games, alienating the open room policy(not their responsibility to want to ether). So this left me in a pickle. Or more so as I am the type to prefers to just cue for a game, as apposed to run around in the discord scene to tag someone to play with me. As open game routes is simpler and more preferable to me.
However given I have a decent memory off of what I did get to play prior, and seemingly the game is the same from the feedback. I will go from that. Monsters feel insanely powerful. Each having their own skills or strengths that make it a nightmare for players to do objectives in the game. Which seemingly seems fair, to a point if you are a clever so-in-so with hide and seek. Objectives however can be cod-style camped as a monster making it impossible for the objective to be completed. So you want to be the monster in this game. You play defensive, you win. Otherwise hope the monster player can easily gets lost in levels and you win the game.
Aside form that the game itself is pretty cool in theory or feel. Given if possibly changed from my last time playing it, I felt given the earlier chance to play it, it would be a great alternative to the constant grind or mention from Dead by Daylight players. Sadly, this one has no strong enough active servers to really say its playable. Unless you are willing to run to the official discord to ask for playing to play with you. Or do not mind hanging out with a Streamer. As for myself, I prefer to assume I was a normal purchaser of the game, whom would not use the two other sensible options for this. My only hope is others will have better luck then I or the servers fill up in the near future as it is a pretty cool game aside from balance issues, or the servers not having cues from the window of random joining.
