One of the many things Nintendo is doing to celebrate the 25-year anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series is arranging a symphony concert that will be going on tour. We got a brief, but delightful taste of what’s to come during Nintendo’s E3 press conference, as seen in the video above. The company today announced that the first of these concerts will take place in Los Angeles, at the Pantages Theatre, on October 21. The full tour will kick off in 2012.
Individual songs from the Zelda games are being picked out by Koji Kondo and his team. Kondo has been the composer on countless Nintendo games, including many of the Mario and Zelda games made over the past few decades.
The concerts themselves are being produced by Jason Michael Paul Productions, which is also responsible for the Play! A Video Game Symphony tour. The orchestra will be made up of 70 members, and a choir will also be involved as new arrangements of classic songs from the franchise are performed.
