Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, the upcoming port of Monolith Soft’s Wii game, will launch exclusively for the New Nintendo 3DS on April 10, Nintendo confirmed today in new trailer.
The game is playable only on the New Nintendo 3DS, not older models of the handheld. The New Nintendo 3DS XL launches next week on February 13 for $200.
The reason Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is exclusive to the New 3DS exclusive is because the system packs a speedier CPU that is necessary for running the game. It’s the only game to be announced so far that requires the new system, which also plays all regular 3DS games.
The original Xenoblade Chronicles was released for Wii in Japan in 2010. After a fan petition, the game ended up being released in Europe in 2011 and in North America in 2012.
