For over thirteen years, the game has had its evolution of different themes, and always the game formula for your usual Rogue-like sci-fi third person shooter genre fix. With a handful of Quality of Life changes (if you are curious all of them if I miss some here). Some combining interesting and fun for the creative in mind, or the trolly consumers of the game, who want to doodle things that could get their 19th accounts banned. I will be covering both the Warframe Follie, and the Switch 2 version of the game. With the Switch 2 coverage condensed into highlighting positives or negatives of the port. Let us begin.
First and foremost, I wanted to tackle the Switch 2 port of the game, and go over the impressions at least of performance of the game. The long-awaited arrival of Warframe on the Nintendo Switch 2 marks a historic milestone for Digital Extremes. Launched on March 25, 2026, this native version finally brings the handheld experience in line with high-end consoles. Players no longer have to compromise on visual fidelity or performance while battling through the Origin System. This release coincides with the massive “Shadowgrapher” update, ensuring all Tenno have fresh content to explore. It represents the final piece of the puzzle for the game’s total platform ubiquity.

The most striking improvement in the Switch 2 version is the leap to a native 1080p resolution. Unlike the original Switch’s frequent frame drops, this iteration maintains a buttery smooth 60 FPS across most mission types. Enhanced lighting, high-resolution textures, and DLSS support make the game look remarkably crisp on the new hardware. Loading times have been slashed significantly, allowing players to jump from their Orbiter to an Open World in seconds. These technical upgrades transform the game from a “portable compromise” into a premier way to play.
This launch isn’t just about hardware; it’s fueled by the introduction of the 64th Warframe, Follie(more on her in a moment). Her ink-based, reality-bending abilities provide a unique tactical edge in the brand-new “Follie’s Hunt” game mode. This mode introduces a survival-horror twist where squads must survive a stalking predator within the ruined Vesper Relay. The update also brings “Atragraphs,” a new cosmetic system that allows for deeper customization of mod visuals. Between the new frame and the hardware boost, the game feels entirely rejuvenated for 2026.

Cross-play and cross-save remain the backbone of the Warframe experience, allowing Switch 2 users to play with friends on any device. Digital Extremes is celebrating the launch by offering the exclusive “Ambimanus Pack” to anyone who logs in on the new console before April 15. This pack includes the Vericres Warfan and various boosters to help new or returning players catch up quickly. The inclusion of “Joy-Con 2 Mouse Mode” also offers a surprisingly precise new way to aim for handheld users. This level of accessibility ensures the community remains unified regardless of where they choose to play.

Down here we all float..
As Warframe enters its thirteenth year, its presence on the Switch 2 proves the game’s incredible longevity. The developers have successfully navigated multiple console generations without leaving their dedicated player base behind. By leveraging the Switch 2’s increased power, they have future-proofed the experience for years of upcoming expansions. The Origin System has never looked better, and the future for the Tenno on Nintendo hardware is brighter than ever. This launch is a definitive statement that Warframe is truly a “forever game.”
Follie‘s introduction I see a major depth of inspiration of where Digital Extremes went to find pick up a playful tongue and cheek to a few Indie gems. As well as some iconic horror villains!

Artistic Mobility and Defense
Follie’s first ability, Forced Perspective, allows her to dive into an inky portrait frame to cleanse status effects. While submerged, she becomes briefly invulnerable before emerging from a second frame at her targeted location. This teleportation inflicts Corrosive damage and staggers any enemies caught near the entry or exit points. By holding the ability button, players can precisely center the teleport indicator on vertical or horizontal surfaces. It serves as a perfect tool for repositioning while simultaneously splashing her Passive Inkblot on nearby foes.
The Versatile Sketchbook

The Shadowgraph ability opens Follie’s sketchbook to select one of fourteen distinct environmental objects. Tap-casting summons the chosen ink-based object, such as Explosive Barrels, Arc Traps, or even Orokin Death Orbs. These summons scale with enemy levels and can even provide utility like Life Support Capsules or Power Cells. Players can even customize the icons for these objects in the Arsenal using a layering system of brush strokes. This makes Follie a unique Swiss-army-knife frame capable of adapting to any mission type.
Shadowgraph Reference Table
The Shadowgraph ability (Follie’s 2nd) is a versatile toolkit that allows you to summon 14 different objects. Most objects scale their damage to enemy levels and can be customized with your own brush-stroke icons in the Arsenal.
| Shadowgraph Object | Primary Function | Cooldown | Key Synergy/Note |
| Explosive Barrel | Elemental AoE Damage | None | Types: Blast, Cold, Radiation, or Gas. |
| Arc Trap | CC & Electricity Damage | None | Invulnerable; great for locking down hallways. |
| Corralizer Armament | Slowing Turret | None | Shoots multiple beams that branch to targets. |
| Defense Capsule | High-Threat Decoy | None | Draws all enemy fire; has no collision for allies. |
| Universal Ammo | Resource Supply | None | Provides ammo for any equipped weapon type. |
| Launch Pad | Vertical Mobility | None | Provides an upward boost for the squad. |
| Arc Trap | CC & Electricity Damage | None | Constant procs for “Stain” or “Inkblot” spread. |
| Thermian RPG | Heavy Weaponry | 30s | Interact to pick up; comes with 3 rockets. |
| Death Orb | Energy & Radiation | 30s | Inflicts Radiation status and damages enemies. Creates an activated Orokin Death Orb. Death Orb rotates clockwise and emits five lasers that inflict enemy-level scaling Radiation damage and status effect to enemies only. Prime Warframes near the Death Orb trigger its one-time energy pulse to refill 250 energy. 30 seconds cooldown between same object creations. |
| Amphors | Grenade / Alchemy | 30s | Random elemental affinity for versatile damage. |
| Life Support | Survival Utility | 60s | Refills ~45 seconds of oxygen in Survival. |
| Power Cell | Excavation Utility | 60s | Instantly creates a cell to speed up excavators. |
| Lohk Surge | Randomized Buffs | 60s | Grants 1 of 6 buffs; 10min individual cooldown. |
| Conduit Key | Disruption Utility | 60s | Provides a random key to trigger conduits fast. |
| Lost Spirit | Loot Radar | None | A Zariman spirit that leads you to hidden caches. |
Protection Through Self Portrait
Follie’s third ability, Self Portrait, creates a flood of ink that congeals into a stationary duplicate of herself. This portrait provides essential damage redirection by absorbing a portion of the incoming attacks directed at Follie. As enemies die within the portrait’s oozing inkblot pool, the physical size and duration of the summon increase. The redirection percentage also grows, making Follie significantly tankier as the body count rises during a fight. This ability can be recast to quickly move the defensive zone to a new strategic location.
Elevated Combat with Plein Air
Her ultimate ability, Plein Air, tangles on-screen enemies in ink balloons and lifts them high into the air. These helpless targets suffer from reduced Armor and Shields while they float for a set duration. Shooting a balloon causes the enemy to drop, dealing deadly scaling fall damage and splashing ink onto others. If a player jumps on a balloon, they are launched upwards for a massive mobility boost across the map. This creates a chaotic chain reaction of falling enemies and corrosive splashes that clears rooms efficiently.
Mastery of the Inkblot
The synergy within Follie’s kit centers on her Passive ink and the manipulation of the battlefield environment. Forced Perspective and Self Portrait ensure the floor is constantly coated in her signature viscous Inkblot. These pools prime enemies for the devastating fall damage triggered by popping Plein Air balloons or detonating Shadowgraph barrels. Her ability to summon mission-critical items like Conduit Keys or Lohk Surges makes her invaluable to any squad. Follie truly turns every mission into a lethal masterpiece of shadow, ink, and tactical precision.
In conclusion, Follie represents a bold new direction for the ever-evolving Warframe roster. By blending high-concept artistry with deep mechanical utility, she offers a truly unique playstyle. Whether summoning mission-critical items or hoisting enemies with Plein Air, she commands the battlefield. Her fluid movement and adaptive sketchbook make her a top-tier choice for any Tenno. She proves that in the Origin System, creativity is the ultimate weapon. Also launching side by side with the Switch 2, it feels butterly smooth on the go or docked during intense ink tossing sessions!
