Disney, yes, Walt Disney, has entered the smartphone market. Earlier today, the Disney Magic 1 was unveiled in China. Running Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1, the pink colored device features a 4.5-inch display with 720p HD resolution, a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor together with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The rear camera is 8MP, and the front camera is 2MP.
Right now, the device is only available in China via JD.com for RMB 2000, or about $326 US dollars. If the device is a success however, don’t be surprised if you see a similar launch in the Western hemisphere.
