Composers from Dead Space 2, Mass Effect and Dragon Age series involved; album’s proceeds to go to struggling musicians.
The last time game composers gathered to make an album for a good cause was for the Play for Japan: The Album collection, to amass donations for the Tohuku earthquake and tsunami victims. This time, a slew of video game composers have teamed up to create the Novum Initium album, dedicated to supporting working musicians in need of monetary aid. The album’s creators are also in collaboration with the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund organization.
The album itself will contain all-new original music from the likes of Sam Hulick (Mass Effect), Brian Tyler (MW3), Inon Zur, Jack Wall (Mass Effect), Garry Schyman (BioShock), and many more.
The album is available for digital download on December 6, via iTunes, Amazon MP3, CDBaby.com, Bandcamp, and 7digital. 20 limited edition CDs containing signatures from the composers and cover art by illustrator Aurelien Police are currently on sale on eBay.
