First off, huge thanks to Little Bat Games, the awesome dev and publisher behind Vampire Therapist, for sending me a free copy to review for thedailygamepad.net!
What if therapy was eternal… and your therapist was also undead? Vampire Therapist sinks its fangs into exactly that question, serving up a unique and hilarious visual novel experience that blends dark comedy with genuine psychological insight. Available now on PC, Mac, and Linux, this title clocks in at a reasonable $14.99, offering a full voice-acted journey through the emotional afterlives of ancient bloodsuckers.

You play as Sam W., a vampire trying to deal with more than just immortality—he’s haunted by centuries of regrets, societal trauma, and his brooding self-image. His mission? Help the vampire king process his baggage… but only after confronting his own.
From the first moments of the game, players are met with witty writing and unexpected depth. Yes, there are vampires in sparkly clubs. Yes, someone actually uses the phrase “zaddy.” And yes, there’s full voice acting, which is always a welcome surprise in indie visual novels. (Seriously—10/10 for that alone.)
But beneath the comedic exterior lies a sincere exploration of cognitive distortions—those sneaky, negative thought patterns we all fall into. The game was developed in consultation with licensed therapists, and while it’s not a substitute for professional help, it does a commendable job of introducing therapeutic concepts like “labeling,” “black-and-white thinking,” and “learned helplessness” in a digestible way.

Each vampire you meet has their own set of traumas, coping mechanisms, and questionable club outfits. Some conversations go from hilarious to deeply philosophical in the blink of an eye. One vampire, for example, reflects on his past as a literal assassin—labeling himself a “mass murderer of existence”—only to have the player character gently guide him through the reframing of his thoughts.
Expect surprisingly nuanced writing, voice-over delivery with character, and a dash of absurdity: from Red Bull and vodka-fueled club scenes to immortal romances with Roman emperors, Vampire Therapist leans into its weirdness in the best way possible.

Vampire Therapist is clever, charming, and cathartic. It’s a visual novel with heart—and humor—that doesn’t shy away from big emotions. Whether you’re in it for the laughs, the lore, or the low-key lessons in emotional intelligence, this is a title worth sinking your teeth into.
This game surprised me in the best way, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Sam’s story unfolds—and maybe learning a thing or two about my own inner vampire along the way.
If you would like to Vampire Therapist, you can sink your teeth into it right now on Steam. The game is available for $14.99 USD and is well worth it for fans of narrative-rich visual novels and supernatural storytelling.
Huge thanks again to the developers at Little Bat Games for the free copy of the game — I really appreciate the opportunity to experience this unique and thought-provoking title.
