Following the big unveiling during the Spike TV VGAs over the weekend, Naughty Dog continued their Uncharted 3 media blitz by premiering the first live, in-game demo on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night.
Sadly, we don’t get to see more of the gorgeous desert vistas shown in the VGA debut trailer, as instead Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra demoed a part of the game that takes place in a burning chateau. As the demo goes on, Drake and Victor “Sully” Sullivan attempt to escape the flaming wreckage while taking on nameless enemies in shootouts and hand-to-hand combat along the way, and there are a few neat scripted sequences with burning floorboards collapsing under Drake’s weight, sending him hurtling at one point over a stair rail and dangling above a burning pit below. Around the midway point the controls are handed over the Fallon, and, well…let’s just say he does his best.
You can see the full demo in the video below. As revealed last week, Uncharted 3 is set for release on November 1, 2011.
