The lack of a breakout action game and lower-than-expected sales of the latest entry in the UFC Undisputed franchise has made the first quarter a tough one for THQ.
Sales were down 38 percent over the period ending June 30, resulting in a $30.1 million loss. By comparison, THQ saw profits of $6.4 million this time last year (via Gamasutra).
Last year’s numbers came thanks to strong sales for UFC Undisputed 2009 and Red Faction: Guerilla. This year though, the publisher was hit by a stronger dollar and lower-than-expected sales for UFC Undisputed 2010.
