The report that free-to-play games will be coming to Xbox Live next year is an intriguing possibility. They’re obviously big business on the PC, and Sony Online Entertainment has just brought a F2P MMO, Free Realms, to PlayStation 3. Outside of that, there hasn’t been much of a chance for free-to-play games to make a mark in the console space. If Microsoft makes it a real focus, even if only with games aimed towards kids, it could turn out to be a big success.
