Tournament open to teams from across North America competing for $50K in prizing

 

TORONTO | January 24, 2019  – Squad up gamers: today it was announced that registration is officially open for WorldGaming Network’s Championship featuring Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4.

 

Open to players in the United States and Canada in squads of five, the tournament will pit team-against-team as they compete for a $25,000 grand prize. The winning team will also receive a trip to attend and compete in CWL Anaheim Open, from June 14 – 16, 2019 – and of course the WorldGaming Network Championship title.

 

“This is our fourth annual Call of Duty esports tournament, and each time we’re amazed by the immense passion American and Canadian players and teams bring to this game,” says Wim Stocks, General Manager of WorldGaming Network. “As with past years, we are heavily invested in providing the highest quality competitive experiences for our players across North America. Whether you are fortunate enough to be at our Championships in-person or watching live on Twitch, this will be an event you won’t want to miss!”

 

The tournament comes on the heels of WorldGaming Canadian Championship in 2018. This year, consistent with the rules of the 2019 Call of Duty® World League (CWL) competitive format, the WorldGaming event will teams of five – encouraging more collaboration, more teamwork and extreme competition.

 

Interested gamers can register on WorldGaming.com and will then proceed through a competitive qualifying process. Open qualifiers will take place between February 16, 2019 and March 10, 2019, with registrants being bracketed down to the top 16 teams. From there, the top eight will be determined in an elimination round during the Closed Qualifiers on March 24, 2019. The eight remaining teams will then proceed to the WorldGaming Championship featuring Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 being held live on April 6 – 7, 2019 at the Scotiabank Theatre Toronto.

 

Gamers must be living in the United States or Canada and be at least 18 years of age to compete in WorldGaming Network’s Championship featuring Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
