A Review By Charlie aka StrictlySega:

Yes I am aware reviewing Tiger Woods PGA Tour13 (TW13) in march 2013 is like reviewing a super Nintendo the day before the n64 comes out. But what the heck, this is a great time to buy this game as its still new enough to be current and with the TG14 coming out very soon the price is about as low as its ever going to be.

I originally bought it cause of Nostalgia, one game I loved playing with my friends on my old Xbox was TW2003, we always had fun slapping that black button as fast as we could to get that extra tonk.. Besides Ive been playing Battlefield 3 for the past year and i think its time for a drastic change. And it certainly was.
When playing BF3 my wife or the kids might call me out of the gaming room and I found it really hard to drop the controller mid round and come running, especially as the game was all based around fast action and multiplayer.
With golf its a lot easier. The game doesn’t care where you are, or what your doing. Even during your back swing your free to just drop the controller and leave anytime.

There is 4 main different types of game modes available,
1 is the tiger legacy, this is when you take on the persona of tiger woods and sleep with lots of white women while projecting the image to the white men that your more focused on golf to do their wives.
2 is the adventure mode where you climb from tree to tree killing birdies and eagles with your golf clubs
3 is multiplayer when u play with a friend or some random girl (who is really a guy) and kill birdies and eagles with them
4 is when you play golf.

The game itself is setup with a series of things to collect, In a EA world of micro transactions TG13 has really shown what is possible. in fact it reminds of a facebook game in that way, you know the ones that make you wait 15 minutes to get another life or to pick your corn or slap a bull’s nuts or whatever. Its a bit like that. You have to earn coins by playing the game or buying them from the store, with these coins you can purchase pins that you can use for like upgrading your character boosts, there is also course and hole pins that will give you a certain extra hit of xp.  I must confess I bought a refill pack once for 6 bucks.. (what a sucker!)
The pins are a good idea for EA, as the button tapping added that arcade feel I think the game was trying to escape to become more of a simulation but it really doesn’t have the full satisfaction of that good old fashioned honest boosted tonk that came from button tapping!

The swing system is excellent but relies on you having at least one reasonably new controller. See, you use the left thumb stick to swing and seeing this is probably the most used part of your controller and the response on this game is so precise that if you have a controller you have flogged over and thrown and kicked around the room then you may want to think about getting a new second controller for this game. Like skate games there is a little circle down the bottom of your HUD that will let you know how your swing went. And like skate games its very precise, its a great system EA has with the thumb stick circle and id like to see it in more games. The timing and rhythm are everything when it comes to your swing. its so important that if u want a dead straight shot that the controller goes straight off because even the smallest tiny little mistake can throw the ball right off course.

So I thought id try the move feature, so i went to my local doctor and we had it arranged to have it inserted it up my ass, and i gotta say,, its was a bit uncomfortable at first, but after a while it becomes part of you. Now its in there the game responds really well with the controller, Tiger looked as happy as me with his Driver club up his arse. The move has a spot on 1 to 1 scale and can even tell when your clenching. But as far as trying to hit a ball with it. Its a bit tricky, I spouse i should try again while holding the controller with my hands next time.

Ok so that is my review, if there is one more thing id like to add. Music is a very important part of playing games for me and I have often mentioned how I like to use my own music when I am dissatisfied with the music included in the games,  this game is no exception And I think it would of been nice if this game and more games in general would let me choose songs from music unlimited instead of the music in the game.
The old Xbox did that really well.

Overall I Give this game 5 stars because it always puts my partner asleep
