While the Joystiq staff continues to mull over the possibility that this is a sign of the Apocalypse, please know that Ubisoft has officially unveiled The Smurfs Dance Party, which was first rumored in April. The game will allow players to “dance alongside their favorite characters and heroes from the feature film, including Smurfette, Papa Smurf, Clumsy, Brainy, Gutsy and Gargamel.” Wait, Gargamel? He’s the bad guy!
The Smurfs Dance Party will debut exclusively on the Wii this July and will include both “chart-topping hits” and “classic tunes” set to “20 fun dances, all created by professional choreographers and led by the legendary blue characters.” Another Smurfs title — a mini-game collection, to be precise — is also planned for the DS.
You can peruse some (vaguely sinister) screens of The Smurfs Dance Party in the gallery below.
