Gaming luminary Will Wright has become increasingly involved in the television world recently, inking a deal with the Science Channel and appearing on a few episodes of its recent series Through the Wormhole. We heard vague reports of Wright planning a reality show for Current TV tentatively called The Creation Project. Now we have a better idea of what exactly it is.
Business Insider reports that Wright’s project is now called Bar Karma, and isn’t a reality show at all. Instead, it will be a scripted show to air in early 2011, but what sets Bar Karma apart is the interactive aspect.
Viewers will be able to create an account and pitch story ideas to the writing staff. The staff will provide a rough outline of the upcoming episode, and the viewers will make storyboards for it. Then users will comment on each others concepts and vote for the winning idea. The production company will adapt and shoot a 30 minute episode from the community’s foundation.
