Unofficial in all terms of the word for the game The 13th doll. This of course is a fan project by Attic Door Productions that has went through a long period in building the game from the roots up. The 13th Doll was inspired by the original architecture of the game series title originally called The 7th Guest. The project was done quite a bit back in time, the year to note here was 2004. it has a off and on time to the point of twenty(if you count The 11th Hour, which was also a official sequel to the 7th Guest. The 11th Hour’s release date on 1995). to twenty two years. They had to sit and recreate the whole thing again from scratch due to the old files being outdated for modern machines to handle. Now the screens presented in a great looking Unity engine. A lot of familiar locations are brought back. This time around we can full-on explore the mansion, plus two new places. Those being the Asylum, and WonderWorld – Stauf’s now abandoned Toy Store.
Originally Trilobyte Games wanted to bring us a new game, however due to some fan disapproval towards some of the kickstarter perks never came alive. So at this point the group behind the fan made game at a later date were given the thumbs up to place this game on kickstarter with permission to distribute the game if the 13th Dolls Kickstarter was successful. Well, lets just say the game pretty much was. I am more then thrilled to take on The 13th Doll with open arms.
The video they produced was pretty well made. Off the bat you are given a short developers documentary behind the game. With a chunk of game play screens as well as narration behind the project. Showing you what the game inspires to be and how far the project has come. You can tell this project is in loving care as for the fact they are die hard fans like many interested in the series itself. There is still plenty of time to support this project by picking one of the perks on the side(Personally would love to play this on PS4, just sayin’).
