Borderlands 2 publisher says its yet to announce plans on moving mature titles onto Nintendo platform; sees “great opportunity” in next-gen consoles.

While Nintendo has so far unveiled a number of core titles for its upcoming Wii U console, one publisher remains absent: Take Two and its slate of franchises including Grand Theft Auto and BioShock.

According to a Gamasutra article, Take-Two Interactive is in no rush to bring its core franchises to Nintendo’s new console. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told the publication the company has not announced anything about moving the company’s mature titles onto the Wii U, saying he’s skeptical about the console.

However, Zelnick said that he was eager for the next generation of game systems to kick off as a chance for the company to advance its position in the games industry.

“For a company like ours, it’s a great opportunity,” he said. “[New console launches] separate the winners from the losers–and we fully expect to be one of the winners.”

Zelnick also revealed there are no plans to annualize the company’s non-sports titles for fear of burning out the consumer’s interests.

“We’re not trying to create something good and market the hell out of it,” he said. “We’re trying to delight customers with something great–and market the hell out of it.”
