If you’ve ever wanted to run your own die-cast car store, Supercar Collection Simulator might be your new favorite time sink. This early access title on Steam (available for $12.99 USD) lets you unbox surprise packs, build a massive collection, race customers on toy tracks, and even trade cars online. It’s quirky, relaxing, and really scratches that collector itch.

I genuinely had a blast playing. There’s something so satisfying about cracking open packs and seeing what rare cars you get—and yep, they all go straight into your collection. You can even order more stock and “sacrifice” a few packs to open for yourself (just remember: that’s product, so you’re missing out on a sale!).

There’s also an online trading mode that unlocks at level 5, where you go head-to-head with another player by selecting 10 cars. The twist? It’s not a regular trade—it’s a trading game. If your car’s value beats theirs, you win that car. If not, you lose yours. I didn’t realize this at first and took in a bunch of low-value dupes… and yeah, I got wrecked. Thankfully, I didn’t lose anything too important. Still, it’d be nice if the game made it clearer that this is a game, not just a trade.

It is early access, so bugs are expected. I ran into one while trying to process a customer’s credit card. The transaction screen froze and wouldn’t go through—at first, I thought their card was declined. After some experimenting, I figured out that using the number pad worked only if I hit the spacebar instead of Enter (which glitched it). So pro tip: use your mouse or hit space, not Enter.

It’d be great if the game added options like declining a sale or switching to a different payment method—maybe even dealing with counterfeit money for a fun challenge.

One thing I think could really elevate the game is a bit more control when it comes to setting prices. Right now, you’re limited to adjusting your item prices either 10% above or below the market rate, and while that’s functional, it feels a little restrictive. It would be awesome if the game let you manually set prices however you want—maybe include preset buttons for 5%, 10%, or 25%, along with a custom option so you could price items exactly the way you want. That kind of flexibility would go a long way in making your shop feel truly personal.

I’d also love to see more options when dealing with customers at checkout. If a customer’s card doesn’t go through, it’d be great to have the option to ask for a different form of payment instead of just getting stuck. Imagine having to deal with someone trying to pay with counterfeit bills or being able to turn down a sketchy transaction entirely—little touches like that could make the gameplay a lot more dynamic and immersive.

As for the trading system, I think there’s room for improvement there too. The fact that you’re forced to bring in 10 cars to trade feels a bit limiting. I’d prefer if the game let you choose how many cars you want to risk, especially if you’re someone like me who avoids trading anything unless they have duplicates. And speaking of that, a safeguard feature to protect one-of-a-kind cars would be a welcome addition. That way, you wouldn’t accidentally toss a rare car into a trade just because you weren’t paying attention.

Plus, it would be super helpful if the game made it clearer that the online trading feature is actually a “trading game,” not just a regular car swap. It totally caught me off guard, and I think relabeling the feature would set better expectations for new players.

Supercar Collection Simulator is a cozy, collector-focused sim with a lot of charm. While the PVP trading mode isn’t really my thing, the singleplayer experience is where this game shines. If you’re into chill games with a touch of nostalgia and a solid collecting loop, this one’s worth a look.

Just remember—it’s still in early access, so you’re buying into a work in progress. But if the devs keep at it, this could be a hidden gem.

Big thanks to Kiki Games for providing me a review copy! You can check out Supercar Collection Simulator on Steam now.
