Steam

As terrific as Valve generally is, it makes mistakes. Last year it admitted it had some failures in its past with regards to both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Its biggest mistake, in co-founder Gabe Newell’s estimate, was in thinking Xbox Live was “such a train wreck” that it would be forced to change. Obviously that’s not the case and Live has been massively successful.

The mobile space is another area where Valve hasn’t had any sort of presence. That might very well change, particularly if more people start to ask for a mobile version of Steam.

“We do feel we’re late on mobile across many of Valve’s services,” Valve marketing VP Doug Lombardi told MCV. “It is something we’re starting to look at now. People are starting to ask us for it. The more requests we receive, the more we feel the need to act on them.”
