In a new interview with Engadget, DICE general manager Patrick Bach spoke–albeit briefly–about the destruction system for the developer’s upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront shooter. Bach said that, while destruction has been a hallmark of the developer’s Battlefield games, Battlefront will be different.

“Star Wars, as an [intellectual property], is shaping what we’re doing,” he said. “So we won’t do excessive destruction just because we can. It’s more about ‘what do you need and what you want’ in a Battlefieldgame versus a Battlefrontgame.”

Bach went on to say that massive destruction wouldn’t be very faithful to the Star Wars franchise’s tastes.

“We’re using destruction where it make sense but also working to create something that is authentic to the universe,” reads a recent tweet from the official Star Wars: Battlefront Twitter account on the subject.

Battlefront launches for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 17. People who pre-order the game will receive the Battle of Jakku expansion on December 1, while everyone else will get this free content a week later on December 8.
