It’s been a number of months since we first had a look at Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. We’ve marveled at how Activision read our minds by introducing a first-person mode, endlessly speculated what each of the four dimensions will be, and even overanalyzed a leaked GameStop DLC photo. We even tried to finagle the answer out of comics writer Dan Slott. Well, at long last, we finally see the final dimension: it’s Ultimate Spider-Man — with the symbiote suit.
Some folks in the 1UP office believe anything involving the symbiote suit as part of one of the worst things ever introduced to Spider-Man comics. I disagree, and don’t mind the suit and the story arc it represents — although it hasn’t been revealed exactly how Spidey gets the suit in the game, be it due to the Secret Wars, or just some random meteorite that impacts the Earth. Maybe the Tablet of Order and Chaos brings it over from another dimension. Either way, it’s here to stay. The cat is out the bag. And now that the curtains have all been drawn back, it’s time to finally see how the game plays.
