If you’ve recently hit the lottery or simply don’t want to spend your savings on outdoor activities or helping make the world a better place, Square Enix has just the item for you — a full-sized treasure chest, just like the ones you’ve opened dozens of in the Dragon Quest games.
Measuring nearly three feet high and two feet across, the chest (emblazoned with the DQ mark right in the clasp bit) is made out of real wood and is filled up with slime plushes and other DQ goods inside. Originally sold alongside Dragon Quest III in 1988, the new treasure chest (released to commemorate the new Wii collection announced a couple weeks back) can be yours for a scant 365,400 yen, or about $4452.
If that price somehow didn’t scare you off, you can go see the chest for yourself later on this week at the Square Enix Character Goods Shop Show Case, located in the Shibuya area of Tokyo. Make sure to bring a servant or apprentice to carry it home for you.
