If a job listing is any indication, it looks like Sony’s Liverpool studio is gearing up to make another entry (or at least something related to) the Wipeout franchise.
The job listing is for a senior designer to join the studio, and while the listing seems innocuous now, that’s because (according to Eurogamer) the most interesting phrase has since been removed: that this senior designer would be tasked to work on a “high profile, futuristic racing franchise.”
You don’t exactly have to read between the lines here: The Wipeout series was created by Sony Liverpool, and yes, Wipeout is a high profile, futuristic racing franchise. So unless Sony Liverpool plans on creating a different brand new futuristic racing franchise, then it seems pretty likely whatever they’re making will be Wipeout related.
