Those picking up The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim today on Xbox 360 should avoid installing the game for the time being. While installing typically reduces load times and keeps the system quieter (because the disc isn’t constantly spinning), doing so right now can cause some texture scaling issues to pop up.
“Skyrim uses a lot of dynamic streaming systems, including textures,” reads an official post on the Bethesda forums. “We’ve seen a few reports of certain textures temporarily scaling down on the Xbox 360, and not scaling back up.”
