Short new release slate led by Lexis Numerique’s survival horror game on XBL and PSN; Zen Studios’ latest hits 3DS, and Choplifter HD takes off.
Late last week, Warner Bros. delayed Gotham City Impostors from its scheduled January 10 debut, bumping the week’s biggest release to February. That move leaves downloadable titles Amy, Zen Pinball 3D, and Choplifter HD as the main draws this week.
Leading the group is survival horror title Amy on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. The game is set after a comet crashes into the earth, releasing a disease that spreads to the populace. Players control a woman named Lara, working alongside an 8-year-old autistic girl named Amy to escape the horde of infected. Amy was developed by VectorCell Studios, and hits the PSN on January 10 for $13, and Xbox Live on January 11 for 800 MS points ($10).
Also out this week is Zen Pinball 3D for the 3DS. Available on January 12 for $7, the game includes four themed tables: Earth Defense, Shaman, Excalibur, and El Dorado. In addition to the expected added visual dimension, Zen Pinball 3D sports multiplayer functionality, online leaderboards, multiple viewpoints, and table-specific missions.
The last notable new release this week is Choplifter HD on Xbox Live and PSN. A revamp of Broderbund Software’s original Choplifter franchise, Choplifter HD will see players assume the role of a pilot for the elite, international helicopter rescue team C.H.O.P.R. (Coordinated Helicopter Operations, Preservation, and Rescue).
