Sega’s oddball House of the Dead spinoff series, The Typing of the Dead, returns tomorrow with a new version for Japanese Windows, the first in four years. This new typing action game was created in cooperation with Rakuten, in particular its portal site catering to job seekers.
The basic premise hasn’t changed: you still type words as fast as possible to eliminate zombies and other creatures as they shamble towards the front of the screen. This new title features a “job hunting” mode where the vocabulary is focused on employment-related terminology. There’s also a string of rather long entries (seen above) based on routines by Nezucchi, a Japanese comedian. All in all 3000 new words and phrases have been added, pushing the in-game total over 20,000.
