iPhone owners should be able to buy an enhanced version of classic action-RPG Secret of Mana some time in the next couple of weeks, as Square Enix announced it’ll be released before the end of the month.
In a post on the official Square Enix Facebook page, producer Masaru Oyamada revealed the game had been submitted to Apple and approved for release on the App Store. For whatever reason, Oyamada couldn’t announce a specific date yet, but he promised “we’ll release it soon in this month. I swear it’s soon! I swear again IT’S REALLY SOON!”
So, you know, soon. Oyamada also released a few screenshots, clearly showing the iPhone version of Secret of Mana will have a bit of a graphical boost over the original Super Nintendo version released way back in 1993. A price also hasn’t been announced yet, but in the comments section of the post, Square Enix vaguely promised it’ll be “Less than CHAOS RINGS. Not $0.99.” So anywhere between $1 and $11.99, then (but probably in the upper range of that spectrum).
