Hybrid, the new third-person shooter from Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell, has been delayed until 2012.
The game had been shown as recently at this year’s Game Developers Conference. It features a unique control scheme, referred to as “combat-focused movement,” that sees movement controlled by the face buttons as opposed to an analog stick. The extra development time is intended to make sure the game is of the highest quality, according to a press release.
“Hybrid was very well received this past GDC; people really seemed to enjoy it,” said CEO and Creative Director Jeremiah Slaczka, “but with an additional year, we can take what we’ve learned and really drill down on our ideas to hopefully transform this game into something great.”
