One Japanese retailer (via Siliconera) is saying there are a few more surprises in store for Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D players. Outside of what the hardware brings to the table, it appears Konami has added some new gameplay elements — specifically, Snake can now walk while crouching and a pair of new camera options are available.
First, there’s a FPS mode — we assume that means players can go through the whole game in first-person view. In addition to that, there’s also a new over-the-shoulder option listed. The translated page reads: “In addition, the adoption of squatting movement, the camera over his shoulder, and also includes FPS mode to optimize system operation and safety for beginners MGS!“
We contacted Konami to confirm, but was given the generic “no comment” response. If these new features are true, it appears 3DS owners are getting even more value — sadly Konami didn’t take the time to add these to the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection version of Snake Eater.
