Like myself, if you’ve played a lot of Survival Horror games, you may have grown tired of the on-screen gore and the occasional jump scare – to the point where effective “horror” is hard to come by. But there is one design method that still influences me, and that is the fear of going ahead into the unknown with a lot of game work to lose. The apparently terrible amount of check points in REDO! is irritating at first, but as you chip away at its abrasive veneer and gain mastery of its systems and universe, you grow to cherish those emotions of fear as the tension is relieved by your courage. Under the surface, REDO! is a tremendously gratifying and ponderous horror experience. You wonder amongst the broken down corridors amongst ruins of sewers, and tunnelings like. Looking for dot looking powerups. Discovering those power ups give you a sense of advancement. It all rolls up to a nice, in-depth and fair souls like adventure! Watch the highlight for more insight and thoughts on the game!
