High-end aftermarket retro console maker Analogue today announced that its re-engineered Nintendo Entertainment System, the Analogue Nt, is available for preorder. The price? $500. If you want it in a different color (red, blue, pink, black), you’ll need to pay an extra $50. It ships this summer.

The system supports the entire NES and Famicom library, including Famicom Disk games, which no other third-party system does, the company says. And because the video and audio signals are processed from the original CPU and PPU, it means there is no emulation.

Analogue says the Analogue Nt natively outputs in the “highest quality analogue signals available,” these being RGB, Component, S-Video, and Composite. Using an HDMI adapter (sold separately), you can hook the Analogue Nt up to your HDTV for output in (upscaled) 720p or 1080p.

The Analogue Nt is region-free and comes equipped with the original NES controller ports, as well as the original Famicom expansion port. It features an aluminum chassis, and Analogue boasts that, “There has never been another video game system like it.”

Analogue previously released a $650 wooden Neo Geo.
