Prepare for another batch of element-themed creatures to catch, as Nintendo has announced a release date of March 6 for Pokemon Black and White. The game has already been a bona fide hit in Japan, getting a perfect score in Famitsu and selling 2.6 million in its first two days.
We expect to see the games sell similarly well here, though perhaps not quite as fast. Pokemon Platinum, by comparison, sold almost 2 million units in the U.S. in 2010, giving it the number seven slot on NPD’s top sellers of 2010.
