Zakzak is reporting (via Inside Games) that Nintendo of Japan employees will be receiving a 1.45 million yen (approx. $17,523 USD) bonus this month. This is significantly larger than winter bonuses at other Japanese firms such as Honda (1.09 million yen/$13k), telecommunications giant NTT (0.96 million yen/$12k) and Japan Rail Central (0.91 million yen/$11k).
It’s also a slight increase over last year’s winter bonus despite Nintendo posting losses for the first time in seven years. In a statement, Nintendo explained that bonuses are based on “individual performance” rather than company-wide profits.
