Namco Bandai today formally announced the latest entry in the “Tales of…” series of RPGs, Tales of Xillia (pronounced “ex-silia”). Described as a “steadfast conviction RPG,” Xillia will be released in 2011 on the PlayStation 3. Today’s announcement coincided with the 15th anniversary of the series’ first game, Tales of Phantasia on the Super Famicom.
Tales of Xillia will be the first Tales game to be created for the PS3. Previous titles such as Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Graces F were ported from the Xbox 360 and Wii, respectively.
